Zelkova carpinifolia Dippel

This deciduous tree species is native to the Caucasus region and can reach a height of 25-30 meters with a trunk diameter exceeding 2 meters. The crown, which displays a beautiful orange color in autumn, is more or less globular and composed of leaves up to 10 cm long. Zelkova carpinifolia and some related species have been used, especially in the past, as ornamental plants, as evidenced by the presence of large specimens in some parks. In the Botanical Garden of Naples, there is a specimen with a trunk base circumference of 5 meters.
