An area located in front of the Castle is entirely dedicated to Camellia japonica, featuring a historic specimen closely resembling the wild form and some ornamental cultivars. The early blooming of camellias brings a burst of colors to the Botanical Garden when winter is not yet over.
Not far from this section, there is a cultivated specimen of tea (Camellia sinensis), a species related to camellias, known worldwide for the invigorating beverage prepared from its leaves.
